Abstract:Telephone account book for the Lake Gulch-Twin Creek Area southeast of Castle Rock, Colorado. The book is a record of calls made, expenses and receipts of the phone company, kept by Helen Josephine (Josie) Doepke from 1938-1950.

Scope and Content

This book is a record of the calls that Josie placed as operator during the years 1938-1950, and the associated accounting for the service. Activity is arranged by caller and year. Also included is a record of the service subscribers and a separate accounting of dues paid by these subscribers for the years 1943-1950.


Biography / History

The first telephone switch of the Lake Gulch-Twin Creek area in Douglas County, Colorado, was housed at the residence of Helen Josephine (Josie) Doepke on the Twin Creek Ranch. Josie Doepke was the switchboard operator of this telephone service.
