.....Plainfield School (District 29) is in the northeastern part of Douglas County, and was annexed as part of the Parker Consolidated School. It was located on the west side of Tomahawk Road, one mile south of East Parker Road. The current location of the building is uncertain, although it may have been moved onto a nearby farm.

.....The name Plainfield was associated with a supposed subdivision about 1 mile south of where the school may have been. The school was located in Section 30 Township 6 South, Range 65 West, while the townsite was in Section 31. The subdivision turned out to be a land swindle, using forged names and testimonials to sell lots to people in Iowa and New York.
